Hello To All,

Back into it this week after a brief spell for Senior/Development with the U19s playing Greensborough they being our solitary team running around last weekend.

This Saturday we have Neil Balme as our guest speaker at the pre-game luncheon & with close to 100 attending it should be a great event

On field being virtually the half-way point of the season it is an opportunity to reflect on where we sit & what lies ahead for the remainder of the season.

SENIORS 4-6 (Sixth)
Sitting 1-5 & bottom after R6 but included in that was three defeats of 10 points or less & realistically in a winning position in all. Then 3 wins on the trot against Whittlesea, Greensborough & Hurstbridge & we jumped to 6th, just outside the five which indicates how close this competition is.

Many around the footy circles stating we should be 7-3 or 6-4 & quite possibly that is right, fact is we are not & this Saturday against Heidelberg we have a massive game. We let an opportunity slip last round vs Macleod & we can’t go into this thinking if we roll up we can turn up the heat.
Last time around we had our chances & genuinely we are playing better footy than when we last played the Tigers so it shapes up as a great contest.

JH will have the squad up & about for this one.

DEVELOPMENT 1-9 (10th)
Recorded a great win last round which will give the guys plenty of confidence & belief for Joel & the boys that they can match it when having a real crack.

The good thing is there are still new players coming through the club & it is a relatively young squad which is encouraging for the future & offers plenty between now & season end.

UNDER 19s 5-4 (5th)
Took the challenge to compete in Div 1 & overall we have acquitted ourselves very well with a few scalps along the way & although a loss last round the performance was encouraging against the 2nd team. In general play we went with Greensborough across the park & if not for a lack of conversion it was game on.

In this division we have a few sides well ahead of the rest but if we keep chipping away & remain with a healthy list a spot in September is not out of the question.

NETBALL WRAP – FRIDAY JUNE 17
NH 1 75 vs Ivanhoe 1 28
NH 2 60 vs Heidelberg 1 42
NH 3 25 vs NH 4 26
NH 4 26 vs NH 25
NH 5 28 vs Whittlesea 1 32
NH 6 22 vs Lalor 1 37
NH 7 37 vs Montmorency 2 30

Section 1
We had an exciting round of netball played on Friday night with NH 1 continuing to excel on court with a big win over Ivanhoe 1 cementing their position at the top of the ladder.
Rebecca Colwell was a star on the night with 55 goals!!!
NH 2 remain in 4th position after their convincing victory over Heidelberg 1 & will be looking to Friday nights game to consolidate their position in the top half.

Section 2
NH 3 vs NH 4 where we had the close won with NH 4 getting over the line by a goal. It was close throughout as NH 3 tried valiantly to reduce the deficit in the last term & fell just short.
NH 4 sit undefeated in first place whilst NH 3 are 5-2 & in second place with plenty to play for between now & season end.

Section 4
NH 5 played Whittlesea 1 & lost narrowly by 4 goals after leading for the first 3 quarters.
Despite the loss NH 5 remain in second position at 6-2 where they look destined to play finals later in the season.

Section 5
NH 6 went down to Lalor 1 & after the defeat sit a few games outside of the top 4 but with plenty to play for in the next few rounds.
NH 7 defeated top 4 challenger Montmorency by 7 goals in an entertaining game & sit 7-1 & are currently in first place.
