Hello To All,

Welcome to the Christmas Edition of Bulldog News.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
With solid numbers in attendance the North Heidelberg Sporting Club AGM was held on Sunday December 5 with the following club members elected to serve on the NHSC Executive Committee for the 2022 season.
Warren Haysom – President (4th year term)
Angela Norman – Netball Operations Manager (3rd year term)
Tanya Bowen – Secretary (2nd year term)
Eunice Sissing – Treasurer (3rd year term)
Cameron Harper – Vice-President Club Operations (Previously served on the General Committee in the junior partnerships position & been a long standing executive member at West Ivanhoe Sporting Club)
Kevin Elms Jnr. – Vice President Club Operations (elevated from the Past Players & Officials role & been on the General Committee for the last two seasons.

Stepping down from the Executive are John McDonald, Troy Perichon & Rick Thompson who have been terrific & loyal members of the Executive over the last 5-6 seasons.
To each of you, we thank you for your contributions in advancing the NHSC into the next stage of its development where we are viewed by many of our peers as one of the leading sporting clubs within the NFNL.

It is pleasing John, Troy & Rick will remain involved in areas of junior partnerships with our affiliated junior clubs or in key maintenance & projects around the club.

Great work fellas.

General Committee positions will be filled in the new year & there will be a call out for people to play a part & do a role to keep us heading in the upward trajectory.
The common theme on the day was you don’t need to be on a committee to make a contribution.

FINANCE
A further year of consolidation for the club with NHSC recording a $53,458 surplus for year ending September 30 which is an increase on the $26,480 profit realised a year earlier.

Profitability would have further improved if the final month of the season had not been cancelled due to lockdown where we had 3 of the final 4 games at Bendigo Community Bank Oval.

Cash position for the same period was $81,497 & similar to the above with cancelled home games, forward estimates at FY end would have recorded a cash position in excess of just over $100k.

AROUND THE CLUB
FOOTBALL

Pre-season numbers have been solid to date although there are a few we have not spotted particularly in our Development & some of the U19s list so post Xmas when we resume let’s get there as we expect to have successful years & places in both sides will be competitive.

Both Heaters & Sugar have been overhaul happy with the participation rate at training with over 60 players either doing all sessions or part (there of) to Xmas & the level of depth of players up for senior selection is encouraging that we can be confident of being a force in 2022.

The fixture was released a few weeks back & for all grades R1 will kick off Saturday April 2 vs Macleod at home (Bendigo Community Bank Oval). A highlight of the first month of the fixture is we will be playing Bundoora on Good Friday April 15 also at home. Put that in your diaries.

LEGENDS GAME
Saturday March 26 North Heidelberg legends of yesteryear with more details to follow. Plenty of banter so far & no shortage of those wanting to play – Kylie Stone, Kevin Elms & Trent Scannell are the organisers of the event.

NETBALL
Quiet at this time of year although indications are we may increase numbers next year from the current seven NHSC teams which is a high achievement in its own right.

The ladies can be proud of their success in 2021 despite no official end we saw some outstanding team & individual recognition by both club & the NFNL.

Great effort to all involved & well done Ang, Sharon & her coaching panel for your outstanding contributions.

FUNDRAISING
The club can be proud of its efforts in revenue raising over the last two years in particular with the extension of our Coterie Club Groups where we now have three in operation where for those not involved you have the opportunity to receive a return on funds you have committed to the club.

To all our sponsors & individuals in these groups you deserve special recognition as evident by our financial results it places the club in a solid financial situation where we can adapt our club model to whatever the situation may be whether open for normal business in season or in dreaded lockdown.

If you are interested in joining Club 500, 1000 or our Business Coterie Group please contact our President – Warren Haysom on 0418 568 530 for further details.
